For the 12th year, The Murphys Creek Theatre presents The Mirror Project, an acting conservancy/camp for kids 9 – 17. The Mirror Project has gained a reputation for creating young Shakespearean actors all while the children are having the time of their lives. “It is the highlight of my summer,” said Bronte Wilhelm, 17, returning for her 3rd year in The Mirror Project. Dozens of graduates of the program have gone on to perform in the Theatreʼs adult productions. Core classes include Acting, Shakespeare, Voice and Movement, and Audition Techniques, with...
additional specialty classes offered in Stage Combat, Dance, Acting with Masks, Acting for the Camera, and Technical Theatre. Classes are taught by company actors performing in MCTʼs summer repertory productions and by various guest artists, giving students an opportunity to work closely with a variety of professional theatre artists. The final product of the conservatory will be a full-length public student production of The Tempest and will be set in Steam Punk fashion.
