After 18 years of providing the local community with fresh roasted coffee beans, brewed coffee and specialty espresso drinks from their store at the corner of Big Trees Road and Main St. in downtown Murphys, owners Matt and Suzan Cullen are retiring. New co-owners Gail Bunge and Lisa Schwartz, both long-time area residents, have bought the business and plan to reopen it in early June in a new location at 78 Scott Street, Suite A (corner of Jones and Scott Streets), Murphys.....
Gold Country Roasters will offer wholesale and retail bulk coffee beans, espresso drinks, brewed coffee, tea and Chai, fruit smoothies and fresh, locally made breakfast pastries and sweets. Gold Country Roasters is installing a newly refurbished San Franciscan roaster, a 25- pound, propane-fired drum roaster manufactured by CoffeePER of Fallon, Nevada. Ted Bunge, who is taking over as head roaster for Gold Country Roasters, will continue the tradition of weekly on-site roasting and custom blending of coffees from Sumatra, New Guinea and Columbia so that customers can continue to enjoy the freshest possible coffee along with favorite varietals and blends. Gold Country Roasters also plans on expanding the choice of available coffees to include new varietals from Africa, Central and South America, and will be developing new custom bean blends.
