Letter To The Editor on District Attorney By David Wagner

Arnold, CA...As campaign season is among us, there will be competition galore for the seat of district attorney. New candidates will face off against incumbent Barbara Yook; but tell me something I don’t know. I am not here to endorse or deface a candidate; I am just here to share a story about my experience with our current reigning prosecutor....

Rewind, Fall of 2009. Post-closing of our local fitness center, I opened a small gym in my hometown of Arnold. At the recommendation of a handful of our customers, I invited the now infamous local dancer, Sarah May of the Satori Jazz Dance Company. A dancer that is known for all the wrong moves.

I contacted Ms. Yook three times over the Month of April 2012 voicing my concerns over Miss May’s “dirty” behavior, nearly six months before charges of unlawful intercourse were filed against May. Nothing. Even after a police report was filed. Nothing. A public defender employed by our tax dollars was on the inside. Nothing. Even after charges had been filed (nearly one-hundred and fifty days later), May literally got off scot-free. You won’t find her in the sex offender registry, and next year the charges will fall off of her criminal record. So, again. Nothing. Why should we entrust our county’s most delicate matters to a person who won’t stand up for our county’s most dependent citizens, our children.
