The Frog Jump Preparations Are in High Gear !
Frogtown, USA...The last couple of weeks preparations for the 2012 Calaveras County Fair and Frog Jumping Jubilee have shifted into high gear. Community members and staff are scurrying about the grounds getting ready for the time every year when Angels Camp is on the national stage. Last week we stopped by and saw Ron Dwelley, Buck King and RJ Dwelley hard at work putting in new tanks for the Frogs to rest their legs in between heats. They told me that even tiny massage tables will be provided this year to give this years crop of Frogletes the best chance to jump past Rosie The Ribbitter's long standing World Record....
Old fashioned, Farm & Gold country Americana will be on display for the world to see again this year from May 17-20. We will be live streaming the Frog Jump Finals again this year for the 6th year in a row. It is alway interesting to check the logs later to see where viewers come from. In past years England, Germany and Sweden have made the list.
So make plans this year for Rope, Ride and Ribbitt as the Mother Lode Region comes to life with the Mother Lode Roundup, Amgen Tour and Calaveras County Fair and Frog Jumping Jubilee!!
