Thank You for Another Record Setting Month!! ~By John Hamilton

Avery, CA...We would like to thank the average of 18,126 of you who visited our humble site each and everyday last month. This is the highest daily viewer average in our 7 year history. We know you have many options for your information and it is truly an honor to be part of your information gathering habits. In the passing early this morning of Andrew Breitbart it reminded me of the incredible changes the web has brought to our society. Breitbart was one of the driving forces of not only the Drudge Report but also The Huffington Post....

He believed passionately in the power of information as do I. While he and others toiled on a national scale I believe the real power for the progress of our society is local news.

With Facebook, Fox News, CNN and others it is becoming increasingly easy to only listen to views that align mostly with your own or that of your "Friends". We believe this is a detriment to our society and nation as we go forward. The Founding Fathers in their wisdom knew that the only way to ensure a healthy country was through a system of checks and balances. Which all of us instinctively get to varying degrees. If we as a society swing too far left or too far right we end up in a ditch either way.

One of the last places we all meet now is on interests that affect us locally. What affects our schools, local government, friends, neighbors and families. In our interactions with our neighbors of all political stripes and the realization that we have more common interests even if approached from opposite ends of the political spectrum is a positive thing.

It is the disagreement and dynamic tension between ideals and extremes that create a healthy society. It is the discussion and battle over ideas and the middle ground that ensures our continued freedoms and the great country we enjoy.

On a national scale or in the choice of our friends it is easy to only hear voices that we agree with. That is why we think it is important on a local level to hear all the voices. We see it in the battle for local elections, Trinitas, school issues and more.

That is why we try our best to give you all sides in a debate on local issues. While we may and do not agree with many of the posts and comments on ThePineTree.net we know it is of value to us all to have as many viewpoints aired with the bounds of common decency as we can.

The religious and the secular, sheriff's reports and celebrations of life all mixed together in one messy package called our daily lives. We thank you for letting us share and be a part of the fabric of this great area!!!

Thank Your for your visits, your time and the best is yet to come.
