THOMAS W. SCHNELLER 1927 - 2012

Angels Camp, CA...Thomas Schneller was born January 12, 1927 in Minnesota where he lived until joining the U.S. Navy towards the end of WW II. He was present at the formal signing of the articles of surrender in Tokyo Bay by the Empire of Japan. Following his Honorable Discharge from the Navy he returned to Michigan joined Star Engineering Co. and met and married his wife, Jeanette with whom he spent 60 eventful years. They moved to Santa Barbara County in 1957, and he began a 30-year career building beautiful custom homes in Montecito and Santa Barbara. Upon “retirement” he and Jeanette had a 44 acre apple ranch in Buellton. After his 2nd “retirement”, they toured the western United States looking for the ultimate golfing community and in 1997 settled in Greenhorn Creek where he built their final custom home...

He enjoyed golf with 2 holes-in-one, story telling, deer hunting, and the company of friends and family. He passed quietly in his sleep with his wife and children at his side. He is survived by his wife, daughter, 2 sons, and 3 grandchildren. A public service will not be held; however, donations may be made in his memory to Hospice of the Sierra, 20100 Cedar Road North, Sonora, CA 95370.
