Copperopolis Town Square, CA...the events, shopping and entertainment gathering place in Calaveras County – will host the “4th Annual Copper Chili Cookoff” Saturday, Jan. 21 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., bringing together cooks of all styles. Admission is free and chili tasting is $5 for guests (10 and over). The competition continues to grow popularity due to recipes allowing more flexibility of ingredients such as beans....

About Copperopolis Town Square

Copperopolis Town Square is a town center with deeply-rooted historical underpinnings. Developed by Castle & Cooke and designed by Rudy Ortega, it is a fresh approach to retail and residential that integrates historical awareness, environmental sensitivity and architectural appreciation into a country town setting. At its core is a neo-traditional urban design philosophy that emphasizes pedestrian-oriented retail and pedestrian-friendly streetscapes that create a socially interactive user experience. A limited number of residential luxury lofts are available, starting in the high $100,000s for those looking for a foothill get-a-way or a place to enjoy the small town lifestyle. The architecture is reminiscent of the mid and late 1800s, capturing the essence of the Sierra foothills gold country and creating a sense of place that is missing from so many retail centers in the U.S.
