Kovacs Memorial BBQ In Copperopolis October 29th

Copperopolis, CA...This fundraising event is taking place Saturday, October 29 from 11-5 at Bridlewood Equestrian Center in Copperopolis. On September 18, Copperopolis residents Rick Kovacs and his granddaughter, Jordan Kovacs, died from carbon monoxide poisoning while attending a gymkhana horse show in Clements. Jordan was only 14 and had gone to Copperopolis Elementary (her younger brother, Brody, 8, still attends there) and was currently attending Mark Twain School. She and Rick were also active members of Copper Hills 4-H. Their family has had to deal with two tragic deaths and two burials...

The Hills Brothers Band will be playing from 12-4, there will be a raffle, silent auction, bake sale, kids games area, and a dog and kid's costume contest. The BBQ lunch will be served at noon and tickets are $10 each. Kids 8 and under eat free. There will be beer and wine available for sale as well. This is a family event and we hope all will come out to celebrate the lives of Rick and Jordan and have fun, just like they would have!

We are still taking donations for the raffle and silent auction if anyone is interested in making a donation. Donations can also be made direct to the family at any Bank of the West location or via PayPal at familykovacs@yahoo.com. For tickets and more information, the public can call 209-785-0600.

The event will take place rain or shine as there is a large indoor arena that is our "Plan B"!
