LET EVERY AMERICAN PARTICIPATE....The Calaveras County Fairgrounds & Jumping Frog Jubilee will be on NBC’s TODAY SHOW this coming Wednesday, August 31st, and will be announcing the release of their new initiative, LEAP!
Angels Camp, CA....On Wednesday, August 31st staff members from the Calaveras County Fairgrounds & Jumping Frog Jubilee will be featured on The Today Show live from Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. The Today Show will be featuring our famous jumping frogs during a segment on county fairs. All four news anchors will be jumping Frogs in the plaza at Rockefeller Center Wednesday morning while Frogtown representatives comment on video clips of our annual event....

Frogtown will also be announcing a new promotion entitled “LEAP ~ Let Every American Participate” on the Today Show. LEAP is a frog jockey campaign aimed to help Americans reconnect with Mark Twain’s famed jumping frog celebration by “hiring” local frog jockeys to jump our famous amphibians during the 2012 fair. People across the world can visit the Frogtown website: www.frogtown.org (which has been reinvented and will also be launched to coordinate with the Today Show feature) to sign up for their own personal frog jockey. Frog Jockeys are youth throughout Calaveras County who will be professionally trained by the Frog Jump Committee to jump frogs on behalf of the entrant. Online entrants will be able to select a name for their frog and choose which cute little frog jockey they want to use, as well direct their jockey on how to “handle” their frogs when persuading them to out jump all the other amphibians of 2012.
In addition, Bogs Footwear (www.bogsfootwear.com), the official footwear of the Calaveras County Fair, is donating 3 pairs of boots as a raffle prize drawn from the first 100 people to sign up for the jockey program online in a show of support for the program.
Frogtown is working hard to launch a redesigned global website next week. New shirts will be given to the Today Show audience, anchors, and community members. It is Frogtown’s intent that “LEAP” be the word on everyone’s lips in the next few weeks and well in to 2012. Remember 2012 is a LEAP year!
