Mountain Aire "Calaveras Freedom Fest" is Coming to Frogtown This Weekend!

Frogtown, USA....Classic Rock and Roll is back at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds. A group of local music enthusiasts are bringing back Mountain Aire style events, the first of which is named; Calaveras Freedom Fest is being held on August 12, 13, and 14. The freedom to join liked minded music lovers to enjoy great Rock and Roll is the theme. This adult themed event is expected to draw 1000’s to join the excitement of an extravagant rock and roll weekend. ....



Friday starts at 2:00 PM on the entry stage with local northern California artists pounding out the tunes. Then at 6:00 PM, the main stage fires up with three great tribute bands from Los Angeles and Las Vegas; Fan Halen will start of the evening off with perfect execution of Van Halen’s greatest rock hits. These guys really have the looks and the music of Eddie and the boys down pat. Following them up, the tunes get cranked up a notch with LA’s TNT playing tribute to AC/DC with all their blockbuster hits. Finishing up on the main stage at 10:00 PM is Zepplica playing the classics we all know and love. To add to the excitement the beer garden stage will also have tunes flowing from local and regional artists through the night. At midnight, band members and VIP party ticket holders will go back stage for a party continues the party. The lucky few will get to meet the band members, enjoy cold beverages and great tasting food served by the Pickle Patch.

In addition to great music on Friday, concertgoers will be enjoying pro skydivers impressing them all throughout the day with their free falls from above. As the sun heats up the action, partiers will be able to enjoy the activities in the adult water park, which is being hosted by The Ladies of Liberty. Plentiful well-located beer stands will help everyone stay refreshed throughout the day.

Saturday the music fires up at 10 AM flowing from three stages until midnight, when once again the lucky will party ‘til 2:00 PM at the back stage VIP party Music throughout the day will be provided by local and regional artists entertaining concert goers. This Include: Unkl Bean We’re Not Friends Anymore, Playing in the Streets, Rock Haven, The Original Snail, Braata, In Oceans, Built by Stereo, The Zoo People, As Yet Untitled, Little Square Box, Among Poets, Bonus Material, Full Circle, Low Life Music, The Art of Explosion, Last Nova and Aquanett. Once again, on Saturday we will be paying tributes to the greats with The Last Stage giving us the best of Boston. Then to close out the show in true Mountain Aire fashion we will have JOURNEY REVISITED will give us the best of JOURNEY.

Skydivers will once again delight concertgoers throughout the day and of course, the Ladies of Liberty will once again be hosting the adult water park Liberty Lagoon.

Sunday will continue with more rock and roll for hardy partygoers. Local bands will continue to fill the air waves, with the Department of Rock from Sacramento closing out the show with the best renditions of the great Rock Bands of the ‘70’s and 80’s. Their go-go dancers for the total effect will join them. Thanks to Fairgrounds, tickets to this great venue and event are affordable priced so anyone wanted to join the party can come. Dailey tickets are available on line for $15.00 and 3 day passes for just $29.00

This is a must attend event for everyone that loves Rock and Roll. If you have attended Mountain Aire events in the past, you already have the memories, now it is time to relive them. If you have never attended a Mountain Aire event, now is your chance to create those memories. Don’t just remember them RELIVE them!
