This Friday is Its Family Night at Fresh Fridays, Angels Camp Certified Farmers Market!!
Angels Camp, CA....Fresh Fridays is held every Friday evening in Shady Utica Park in the historic downtown district of Angels Camp just off Main Street. The market begins at 5pm and closes at Dusk. Visitors to the market enjoy an abundance of locally grown fresh certified produce with a variety of seasonal fruits, vegetables, eggs and nuts. Plenty of food and dining choices are available from local restaurants and catering companies as well as baked goods, specialty foods, desserts, cupcakes, chocolate creations, olive oil, bbq sauces and seasonings, jams, honey and ice-cream. .....
This week the food choices include the famous Lockford Sausage sandwiches and pulled pork BBQ plates from Made in Calaveras with kids hot dogs available as well. Lunch Lady Catering is baking her wonderful gourmet fresh market Pizza's and this weeks pizzas are topped with marinated zucchini, roasted garlic, feta cheese and fresh squash blossoms from Outer Aisle FOODS. For kids LLC offers a child's plate that includes a cheese and olive pizza, mini cupcake and strawberry lemonade for just $6! And of course there is plenty of ice cream, Italian Ice and even Root Beer Floats available.
This Friday's special guest includes Winemaker Chuck Hovey, a local winemaker for 25+ years who is presenting his award winning and limited release wines for tasting and for sale by the glass. These wines are incredibly good and special due to their limited production.
Because its Family Night, the market is filled with kid related activities that include pony rides, face-painting, henna and body art, storytelling, a Market Scavenger Hunt, water balloon toss and TONS of local crafts and homemade goods for babies, kids and the family. A tour of the market will be hosted by local Nutritional Experts from The Resource Connection who are helping families learn how to use and purchase nutritional AND economical alternatives at your local farmers markets. The tour meets at The Resource Connection and includes meeting local farmers and producers and tasting seasonal produce and foods.
