June 24-26, 2011 - 15th Annual Passport Wine Weekend - The Calaveras Winegrape Alliance will host Passport Wine Weekend at its 20 plus-member wineries and tasting rooms, replete with three days full of entertainment, gourmet foods, surprises, and special discounts, paired expertly with Calaveras County’s finest wines. This bountiful weekend kicks off Friday night with “Taste the World of Calaveras” in Murphys Community Park on Algiers Street from 6 to 8:30 p.m. With Angels Creek flowing beside oak-shaded picnic tables and the park’s iconic white gazebo, guests are invited to enter the world of Calaveras with wine varietals from five regions – California, France, Italy, Rhone and Spain.
