Arnold Rim Trail Association - Trail Building Days & BBQ - June 18th & July 9th
Dear Arnold Rim Trail Aficionados, Finally the weather is looking better, so we are are announcing two upcoming volunteer trail building days.... and a BBQ. Please mark your calendars! June Volunteer Trail Building Day: Saturday, June 18th, 8:30 am - noon. Meet at USFS Station in Hathaway like we have in the past... see details below! July Volunteer Trail Building Day & BBQ: Saturday, July 9th, trail building 8:30 am - noon, BBQ at noon. Meet at Sierra Nevada Logging Museum in White Pines at 8:30 for trail building, at noon for the BBQ.....
Here are the details:
June 18th is the first volunteer trail building day of the season. Please meet at the US Forest Service Station in Hathaway Pines. After a brief safety orientation by Jeffery Hilson of the USFS, we will proceed to the portion of the trail that Jeffery has determined needs work. Since it sometimes gets warm as the morning progresses, please bring layers, gloves, hat, sunscreen, and water. If you have a favorite garden tool like loppers, bring those, but we will have tools for everyone. Folks from eight to eighty-eight are invited; children should have adult supervision.
July 9th is the next trail building day, but with a twist. As usual, we will meet at 8:30 a.m. but this time we shall meet at the Sierra Nevada Logging Museum at White Pines. At noon, we will have a BBQ with hot dogs and the fixin's at the Logging Museum, for a small requested donation. You are invited to join the BBQ whether or not you participated in the earlier trail building activity. At the BBQ, the Arnold Rim Trail Association will share last year's successes on the trail and give an overview of what is on tap for the Summer and Fall of 2011. Haven't been to the Sierra Nevada Logging Museum? Here are the directions. A hearty thanks to Sierra Nevada Logging Museum and Ginny Kafka for making the facility available to us.
We will only cancel if the weather is rainy. If we must cancel, we will post the cancellation on the Arnold Rim Trail Association Facebook page early that morning.
Please feel free to share this email with friends and family that you believe may be interested. See you on the Trail!
