Murphys Volunteer Library Happenings

Murphys, CA....The Murphys Volunteer Library has awarded a $500.00 Scholarship to Alex Michael Durante for his essay on “Why I’m Proud to Live in America”. Alex has been accepted to the University of Redlands and wants to get a B/A or a B/S. The Murphys Library will continue this scholarship program on an annual basis for one student who has applied to a college, living in either Murphys or Vallecito. Please contact the Library for more information....

The Murphys Volunteer Library now has free WIFI. Bring in your laptop, Ipod, Ipad or Smartphone to the library and you can use our WIFI hotspot to connect to the Internet. Three Internet workstations are also available.

On Saturday, July 16, in conjunction with Homecoming, the Murphys Library will hold a gigantic book sale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Library. Ten ($10) bucks buys you a “bag o’ books” of your choice. We have hardbacks, paperbacks, non- fiction, fiction, westerns, mysteries, science fiction, large print, children’s books, juvenile, young adult, audio cassettes, and even videos. Come early for the best choices. Bring in a Sierra Hills receipt and get a free book. We also appreciate cash donations.

For more information please call the Library at 728-3036 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Mission: To provide resources to enhance the overall library experience
