Pianist, Robin Wells To Perform in Murphys
Murphys, CA...Pianist Robyn Wells will be performing a concert of classical music on Wednesday, June 15 at the First Congregational Church of Murphys, 496 Church St. in Murphys. The concert, which begins at 7:00pm, is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted. The concert to be presented features works by Brahms, Fauré, Chopin, Saint-Saëns, Mendelssohn, and Scriabin. The program, “A Grand Romance,” is a celebration of this prolific and masterful era of music. The highlight of the program is the set of 24 Preludes, Op. 11 by Scriabin—a series of miniature snapshots of varied and extraordinary moods and techniques. ....
Robyn received her Master of Music degree in piano performance from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1994, and her Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. She held positions as staff accompanist at both universities. Currently Robyn is adjunct piano faculty at the College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho.
As a soloist, Robyn has performed with the College of Idaho Sinfonia, the Miami University Symphony Orchestra, has been a featured soloist on community concert series in Idaho, Michigan, Massachusetts, and Colorado, and has given performances in Canada, Norway, and Italy.
She has participated and won prizes in several piano competitions, including being selected as a finalist in the 1998 Award-Debut Competition sponsored by the Ladies Musical Club of Seattle. In 1998 and 1999, Robyn spent part of the summer as a participant in the Sessione Senese per la Musica e l’Arte in Siena, Italy.
Since 1993 Robyn has managed and performed her own series of concert tours, which to date have totaled over 240 engagements throughout the United States.
