Calaveras Community Band Opens Summer Season in Murphys Park!
Murphys CA....The Calaveras Community Band opens their summer season in Murphys Park by honoring our Veterans with an evening of patriotic music mixed with toe-tapping tunes. Join us Monday, May 30, 2011 at 6:30PM for a free outdoor concert to celebrate Memorial Day and pay tribute to Veterans and their families, both those now serving our country and those who have sacrificed for our country in the past. Our music for the evening includes America the Beautiful, Armed Forces Salute featuring music for all branches ...........
of our Armed Services, Washington Post March, and Stars and Stripes by Philip Sousa. If the marches don't get you to your feet, perhaps such popular tunes as Blue Tango and The Irish Washerwoman will! Conducted by Mic Harper, the Band fills the park with music for all ages. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic dinner for the whole family. The Murphys Community Club will offer hot dogs, wine, and soft drinks for purchase at the Hut. Bring your friends and family and support our Veterans with an evening of music in the unique and charming hometown setting of Murphys Park.
Throughout the summer, you are invited to attend Calaveras Community Band Monday evening concerts in Murphys Park at 6:30PM . If you play or have played a band instrument in the past, please join us. The Calaveras Band is always looking for new members. With the current drastic cuts in school music programs, we offer a place for young musicians to continue to play and learn more about music. We continue to grow as an ensemble and to challenge ourselves with new and interesting music. We invite you, the community, to enjoy our music and join us on Memorial Day!
