Driver Falls Asleep at Wheel Causing Vehicle and Small Vegetation Fire
Twain Harte, CA....A driver fell asleep at the wheel yesterday afternoon at Hwy 108 and Mile Marker 50 on Twain Harte Grade, causing his vehicle to go off of roadway and start the vehicle on fire. An 1/8 acre vegetation fire also occurred. Estimated damages are $20,000 for the vehicle. No injuries. Multiple crews responded to the incident. Fire report is enclosed...

THE DRIVER OF A 2004 FORD F150 FEEL ALSEEP AT THE WHEEL AND WENT OFF THE ROAD. AFTER THE OCCUPANTS EXITED THE VEHICLE THEY NOTICED LIGHT SMOKE COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, SHORTLY AFTER THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IGNITED. THE VEHICLE BURNED ALONG WITH AN 1/8 OF AN ACRE OF GRASS VEGATATION. ESTIMATED DOLLAR DAMAGE IS REPORTED AT $20,000 FOR THE VEHICLE.
