Re: Critique of the Candy Rock Quarry Target Shooting Neutral Assesment
Authored by Lonald Lott and Austin Mcinerny

Dear Lonald:

After reading, and re-reading the above assessment, it is my distinct opinion that your assessment is clearly biased and slanted in such a calculating manner, that it leads me to believe that you predetermined your conclusions and then “fit” your interpretation of the facts to fit your conclusions.....

NOTE: Link to Assessment....

It is disheartening to know that you represent an organization that is charged with teaching our young adults about ethics, along with the technical aspects of becoming a learned professional in America. It is even more disheartening that you purport to be unbiased and neutral, when in fact, your every deed that I have seen says otherwise.

The above assessment is fraught with distorted facts and mis-information, it shows that you researched such things as the sound readings done by one of the parties; enough to seemingly discredit the sound readings; but takes a photo of a beat-up vehicle with presumed bullet holes and reports of “whizzing bullet richots” through the residential area as gospel, without doing any ballistic analysis …

Is it really conceivable that a bullet:
a. fired 586 yards away from the residential area,
b. in a direction parallel to the residential area,
c. impacting shattered loose aggregate on a near vertical surface perpendicular to the original bullet path,
d. not penetrating the loose aggregate, but would bounce off the loose aggregate and
e. then turn 90 degrees with an arcing trajectory, similar to an indirect fired artillary round, and
f. not just reach the residential area, but actually be “whizzing” through the trees?
That must be the magical bullet, generating more foot-pounds of energy at the end of its flight than when it was fired from the weapon.

Unbiased and neutral?? Oh contrar!

As a citizen and taxpayer of California, I am offended that our tax dollars are used to support people like you; biased, prejudiced and lacking ethics, employed by a higher learning institution, and no doubt teaching young adults those very same biases, prejudices and lack of ethics."
