Letter to the Editor~by Michelle Plotnik
Dog Lovers Attention, Because of my involvement with Murphys Irish Day, each year I get calls from people asking if it is o.k. to bring their dog to the event. I tell them there are no restrictions but to please consider the circumstances. There is a huge crowd so people walk very close to each other, and a lot of families have strollers with small children......
If a moderately large dog has good social skills, and is on a leash, there may not be a problem. But some of the small dogs tend to be underfoot and may not be very happy.
Last year we had someone lock their animal in a car with the windows closed and we had a devil of a time finding the owner.
All we ask is that you use common sense and show consideration for your dog, the small children, and the other people who have come to Murphys to have a good time.
Murphys Irish Day is a great event and we try to do everything possible to make is a pleasant experience for everyone.
