Competition Book for Calaveras County Fair Now Available
Angels Camp, CA....The Competition Guide Book for the 2011 Calaveras County Fair and has a new look and format. The entry guide book describes the process to enter into fair time competitions, everything from art to baked goods. The 2011 book has a new – reader friendly format. Entry categories are distinguished by exhibit hall. The type is much bigger and areas of interest are profound. In 2011 there will be an additional exhibit building dedicated to home arts and in the guide book there is an entire section describing the home art competitions. Other areas of interest are separated accordingly.....

There are three distinct new areas of competition for the youth and teen divisions. “Writing, Poetry and Prose” gives students an opportunity to compete in the art of language and word. Students have several choices on subject matter, including Pirates, humor and romance. Another new area is the revamped “Ag Mechanics and Industrial Arts”division. This year exhibitors will be given the opportunity to sell their craft in a special auction set for May 15 at 9:00 a.m. There are new floriculture competitions for youth and teens as well.
The 2011 Entry Guide Books “Where your talents tell the story” are available at the UC Extension office in San Andreas, Calaveras County Libraries, Country Cloth in Angels Camp, Spence Ranch Feed & Supply north of Angels Camp and the Fair Administration office, 209-736-2561. The guide book can also be found on the Fair’s website, www.frogtown.org. The 2011 Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee is May 19-22, “Pirates of the Carrots and Beans”.
