Letter to the Editor~by Peggy Rourke-Nichols

Dear Editor, We were in Sonora today for errands, etc. and were happy to see the truck from Re-Horse Rescue in the parking lot. I went in to OSH and asked around to find the wonderful people who helped save the horses last week. It didn't take long at all. I gave her our profound thanks for taking the horses in. I reached in to my wallet to give her all I had, a ten dollar bill. She says that will buy 2 bales of hay. It isn't much but it was enough to let them know they did something very special. We exchanged hugs and I told her that what they did was very extraordinary. So, if you have an extra ten dollars, send it their way and know it will buy 2 bales of hay.....

She said the horses are doing much better and the horse who had been in the dog pen is now enjoying the days roaming the pasture and lifting her head up high.
It made our day and we wanted to share it with you.

Roger & Peggy Rourke-Nichols

I am saddened by your harsh replies. I did my best for 25 years as a nurse. I went above and beyond for the homeless, the mentally ill patients and vets who so proudly served our country. I am now disabled and grateful for the medicare benefits I had to fight hard to gain. I can no longer take care of patients in Calaveras and Tuolumne County due to my disability. The least I can do is buy 2 bales of hay for horses who have been in such awful conditions. If I could save the world, I would. I just do my best every day to make it by taking care of my ailing husband, my dying dog and an thankful for each moment we have together. I do what I can for friends and neighbors who have helped us through some very tough times. Maybe you need to read about the Seeds of Kindness campaign and do something helpful, on some level, instead of attacking our small gift to the horses. Bless you and try to have a better, less bitter day.
    Peggy

HEALTH CARE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HORSES OR HAY! STAY ON TOPIC PLEASE.

This very nice viewer was just reaching out and letting us know how to help if we wanted to.

Please find a healthcare article to comment on:)

      Kim

Why are you guys going on and on about health care when the article was about helping the horses. If you cant help the cause or say anything nice, maybe you should not comment!

Some one had to speak up for the horses, they can not talk and express their feeling as you have. I have found in this world that you get what you give and it has to be without expecting something in return. Have any of you that has so much to say ever given ???
