Santa Claus Calaveras County Travel and Visit Update~by Patrick Works
Angels Camp, CA...Carols, customers and holiday cheer could not be dissuaded by a bit of rain as the annual Angels Camp Business Association Open House brought out the throngs of local boosters, shoppers and out of town visitors to our historic downtown Angels Camp to help set the stage for what promises to be a wonderful shopping season! Santa Claus made a great entrance as the master of ceremonies for the parade this year. Families from far and wide came to greet Mr. Claus and see that all their holiday wishes found their way to the North Pole.....

Downtown Angels Camp businesses tried their best to keep up with everyone as holiday shoppers made their way through the crowds of kids. Firefall Jewelers almost needed local law enforcement to restrain the mobs as their 50% off jewelry sale kicked off the holiday retail season downtown!
Turner's Western Wear made true to the promise of all they've offered through the years with everything from a simple set of gloves, the warmest slippers this side of the North Pole, hats for everyone (of course!) and the only local source of the original Pendleton anywhere this reporter could find.
The Historic Angels Camp Mercantile hosted their usual standing room only crowd for open mic entertainment, having drawn not only local folks but families from as far and wide as the Bay Area and Sacramento. Their new breakfast for a bargain is just the latest menu category that keeps everyone coming to what has become a signature food and shopping destination here in the motherlode. Entertainment, coffee, tea, meals and a family friendly space of incredible comfort: all proceeds continue to flow to the Buttercup Farms and all the not-for-profit work that they've been bringing to our community and deserving people worldwide.
After having met Santa, candy canes in hand, kids went home to decorate trees, finish their gift lists, and prepare for the holiday morning yet to come.
We will keep you abreast of Santa's travels as he and his reindeer contingent approach chimneys in our area.
If you and yours need more specific updates about Santa's movements, please remember that your hard earned tax dollars are at work, and NORAD tracks the poles and the skies above...
