‘Tree Lighting’ and ‘Old Fashioned Christmas’ Highlight Festivities this Week in Copper Town Square!

Copperopolis, CA....Copperopolis Town Square – the events, shopping and entertainment gathering place in the area – announces its schedule of events for the holiday season, including the annual “Tree Lighting” ceremony on Friday, November 26th from 5 to 7 p.m. and an “Old Fashioned Christmas” festival on Saturday, November 27th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m....

The “Tree Lighting” is one of the traditional ceremonies of the year, signifying the beginning of the holiday season in Copperopolis Town Square. As night falls, residents, visitors, store owners and their staffs will gather around the Christmas tree in the center of the square and sing carols led by local favorites Vince & Sally Arelli.

After the chaos of “Black Friday,” the “Old Fashioned Christmas” festival offers a tranquil, relaxing environment with eclectic shopping and casual dining. Families are invited to take a ride with Santa in a horse-drawn carriage; kids are encouraged to give Santa their Christmas wish-lists. Complimentary hot chocolate and cookies will be served for those in attendance. The Diamond Duo will provide entertainment at the gazebo while festivities take place.

“As we bring in this special time of year, our town square provides a small town experience and family atmosphere for all to enjoy,” says Linda Stefanick, Vice President and Event Director for Castle & Cooke Calaveras, Inc. “We invite the community to shop small and help America support the ‘Mom and Pop’ businesses that are so important to our history.”

Copperopolis Town Square is situated in the rolling foothills of the Central Sierra on Highway 4 in Calaveras County, two hours from the Bay Area and 1.5 hours from Sacramento. The area offers visitors a wide variety of amenities and activities including: golf, tennis and dining at acclaimed Saddle Creek Resort with accommodations for guests in luxurious Lodge Bungalows conveniently located within a few paces of the golf course; boating on Lake Tulloch; eateries, restaurants and artisan shops at Copperopolis Town Square; and scenic guided trail rides on horseback and children’s pony rides provided by the Copper Valley Trail Company. The Copper Station recently opened for motorists on Highway 4 seeking a place to refresh and refill midway between San Francisco and Lake Tahoe.
