Iva Hughes Florist November 10, 1925 – September 4, 2010
Iva was the daughter of Bertha and Aldo Barnett of Campbell, Ca. She was born in Wichita, KS and raised in Campbell, and moved to Arnold where they opened “Daffy’s Roost” Restaurant at Cedar Center in 1980 –1991 with her late husband Cecil. Iva was well known for making her “Taco Salads” and “Taco Pockets”, which many considered the best in the county. Iva was co-owner of Blooms and Things Florist with her daughter Vicki McFall, which they have owned for 25 years. She has been an avid bowler for over 60 years and bowled for the “Morning Rollers” League on the “Blooms and Things” Team at Sonora Family Bowl. At the age of 82 yrs. she had the highest women’s game score of the season for the “Morning Rollers” League with a 242 game. ....
She leaves behind 3 children, Jim (Barbara) Hughes of Arnold, Vicki (Ron) McFall of Arnold and Cathy (Greg) Bishop of Turlock, Ca. In addition, she leaves behind 10 grandchildren, Teddy Hughes of Arnold, Mark (Jennifer) McFall of Angels Camp, Jeremy Bishop of Turlock, Christy (Ron) Ziemba of Lehi, Ut., Denyse (Mitch) Fieber of La Grange, Jeff Hughes of Jackson, Scott (Taryn) McFall of Fairfax, Brad (Angela) McFall of Mammoth Lakes, Tiffany (Claude’) Giroux of Ft. McMurray, Canada and Trevor (Jennifer) Bishop of Ft. Hood, Tx. In addition, she leaves 8 Great Grandchildren, Christopher, Aaron, Kailer, Nathaniel, Hailey, Ty, Seth and one due in March.
