Angels Camp, CA...Angels Camp City Councilman and former owner of SEI Solid Waste is already on the job of managing a landfill in the Petaluma area as of yesterday. Rick Downey has been searching high and low trying to find a job that fit his qualifications locally. One complicating issue was non-compete clause in the sale of SEI which precluded him from taking many waste industry management jobs locally...

His new job will prevent his running for reelection for his Angels Camp City Council Seat but I would bet it's not the last we have seen of Rick Downey politically. He will still fulfill his duties until the end of his term.
He and his wife will keep their home here and he will be spending his work weeks away but return home on weekends. The Downeys plan on making this area their retirement home as well.
