Noise Ordinance Moves Forward for Tuolumne County Lakes & Lake Tulloch ~By John Hamilton

Sonora, CA...One of the big outcomes of this morning's Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors meeting, is that they voted to move a potential noise Ordinance forward concerning boating and water skiing and Tulloch Reservoir to regulate sound amplification devices on boats....

The proposed ordinance would target sound systems that could be heard farther than 100ft. from the boat.

We received a call from a Copperopolis business person today with concerns about the proposed ordinance and whether it would be feasible to enforce and why the boating public was not notified about the proposed ordinance.

The Tri-Dam Project which overseas Beardsley, Donnells and Lake Tulloch has expressed concerns as well. Their concerns center around the fact that they would like to have consistent regulations in both Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties.

Calaveras County will consider their own proposed noise ordinances soon as well. More to follow..
