Steve Fairchild to Speak at Calaveras County Taxpayers Association BBQ

Murphys, CA...Steve Fairchild will be the keynote speaker at the Calaveras County Taxpayers Association third annual fundraiser BBQ on Thursday, August 19th.  The event will be held at Moaning Cavern Park in Vallecito between 5 and 9 PM. Steve is President of Sierra Nevada Recreation Corporation, which develops and presents natural caverns, mines, and other activity attractions for curious people...



Steve is past president of Calaveras County Chamber of Commerce and the Visitor’s Bureau, the National Caves Association, and the International Show Caves Association and is a member of its scientific committee. He served 18 months as the President of Calaveras County Grand Jury and is a Director in Calaveras County Taxpayers Association. Steve has been active in research, development and deployment of military and space related industries during his 6 years in the Air Force and will present fascinating information about climate change, including special testing in his caverns.

Also speaking will be:

- Mike and Tonja Dausend, who helped create the property rights friendly “Alternative D” to the County General Plan Update. They also sparked plugged the movement to make the proposed Housing Element more friendly to fundamental human rights. They are on the CCTA Executive Council.
- Cory Burnell, CCTA Director. Cory will be reporting on Campaign For Liberty and upcoming Tea Party events.
- Seana Hogan, who founded “We the People” Constitution class and discussion group in Valley Springs. She will explain how to set up a Constitution class in your community. Seana is a CCTA Executive Council member.
- Bill McManus, former Supervisor Candidate, will be reporting on a new group he is starting to help our local economy.

Delicious Tri-tip and Chicken BBQ dinner will be provided by Executive Council Member, Susan Cloud, experienced caterer and owner of ”Hair For You” salon in Angels Camp.

The event will begin at 5:00 with a no host bar. Dinner will be served at 6 PM and program will start at 6:30 PM, moderated by Al Segalla, CCTA President.
