Fire News...Vegetation Fire on Hwy 4
Copperopolis, CA...Crews from multiple agencies and air craft out of Columbia are responding to a vegetation fire on Hwy 4 near Telegraph. Please use caution in the area. We will post updates if the fire gets up a head of steam. (Update One...We just heard from Charity Maness who is on scene and this one is already a decent size. No official acreage estimates yet...(Crews on scene are reporting two fires near lower Telegraph. One of 15 acres or so and a larger one of 100 acres or so with a moderate rate of spread. CAL-FIRE command center has also issued a routine "Move Up and Cover" order for a few engines so you may see fire equipment better positioning themselves for coverage. (Update as of 5:42pm..The fire has jumped the road and is on both sides of Telegraph....
TCU Command Center doesn't have a containment estimate yet and are stating 50plus acres. Fire is contained at 6:13pm per CAL Fire. Mop up stages will continue.
