CANDIDATE STATEMENT

As your District 5 Supervisor, I am seeking re-election to continue working for you to bring vitality and a sense of community to Calaveras County.  Since entrusting me with your vote in 2006, I have worked hard to accomplish these tasks by improving governance through building productive relationships on the Board of Supervisors, with adjoining counties, local agencies, and at state andfederal levels. In these difficult economic times, enhancing job growth must be our highest priority, so these relationships are essential if we are to prosper.

After earning a degree in Business Administration, I began a long career as a business owner in the masonry industry, a trade that I learned from my father. During this time, I proudly served as President of California's Masonry Contractor Association from 1982 to 1984. It is this business work ethic that I bring to the County.

For over 30-years, much of that serving in Calaveras County, I have led many community organizations.

From the arts, land use planning, open space, recreation, to the environment, I have developed successful projects that enhance the community. I am committed to serving the citizens of District 5.

If experience counts, I respectfully ask for your vote.
