David E.Porter of Sheep Ranch Passed Away on April 21, 2010

David E. Porter of Sheep Ranch died April 21, 2010 at the age of 71, of heart failure. David was born April 28, 1938, in Visalia , Ca. Shortly after the age f 19, he moved to the Stockton area and worked hard as a truck driver for many years until he retired. He then spent several years living on the Stockton Delta on his houseboat where he came to meet many lifelong friends. He moved to Calaveras County where he spent the remainder of his years because of its beauty and he felt it was peaceful...

Dave appreciated spending time with friends, and was always considerate. He was known for his gentlemanly ways, and thoughtfully treated people with respect. He had a tremendous sense of humor, orneriness, quick wit, streaks of stubbornness and a nickname for everyone. He was an amazing cook and enjoyed sharing meals and conversation with companions. To know him was to love him. He will be deeply missed. He was a wonderful father that made sure his children knew how important they were to him. He is survived by his daughter, Stacey Porter-Phillips of Ukiah, his son, Bryan Porter of Sacramento, and extended family Bob and Gloria Brasiel of Stockton; a proud grandfather to his two grandsons, Blake Phillips and Austin Porter. He is preceded in death by both parents Lowell and Della Porter of Visalia and his brother Harlen Porter of Stockton .

We are privileged to have shared wonderful times, and created ever-lasting memories because of him. A celebration of life will be held for David on Sunday, May2, 2010, at_1:00 P.M. at the Jackson Elks Lodge 12500 Kennedy Flat Rd, Martell, CA . For details please call (707) 272-8994. In leiu of flowers donations can be made to your local Food Bank or a Charity of your choice.
