Valley Springs Music Festival presents new Concert Series beginning MAY 1

The Valley Springs Music Festival scheduled for Saturday, May 1 has been rescheduled for May 2011. In place of this years Festival, the committee will hold a series of concerts throughout the 2010 year. The first concert in the series, will be held Saturday, May 1 at the Metropolitan in San Andreas at 7:00. The evening will feature the “Tower of Power Tribute Band” and the “Calaveras Unified School District Band”. Tower of Power Tribute Band is an up tempo, BIG, smooth-sounding, hip-shaking party band. ....

Blessed by former and current Tower horn player, Mic Gillette, who writes horn parts for the band and sometimes plays with them, the Band brings to the stage a big, powerful brassy sound, as only a true horn band can. Together for years, working as a R&B, soul & funk cover band under the name REUNION, band leaders Billy Sims and Matt Martinez decided to give the tribute band concept a whirl.

The Calaveras Unified School District Band brings together the Calaveras High School and Toyon School Bands... This is quite a treat and showcases the talents of our students.

Tickets are available at Showtime Video in San Andreas and Valley Springs and the Health Habit in Valley Springs or by calling 754-0127. Tickets will also be sold at the door. The will be a No-Host Bar.

The cost for the evening is $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.
