It’s show time again!
The Calaveras Gem and Mineral Society will be hosting our annual Gem and Jewelry Show and Sale, on March 27th & 28th at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds in Angels Camp. This is our annual fundraiser. All monies taken in goes toward the up keep of the club house and the shop. We teach all who are interested in the lapidary arts. The Calaveras Gem and Mineral Society has been in Angels Camp since 1948.....
There will be great exhibits for you to see. These are show cases that the members of Calaveras Society and Societies from other areas of the state, has made (jewelry) or different material (rocks/crystals) that they have collected. There will be Demonstrators to show you how you can do these projects yourself! There will be demonstrations in Cabochon cutting and polishing, Faceting, Wire Wrapping, Flint knapping, making chains and one of our dealers will be doing silver smithing in his area. We will have dealers there so you can buy all your jewelry making supplies, beads, tools, minerals, rough rock, gems, beautiful jewelry and meteorites. There’s a little something there for everyone. We will also have a kids area where they can spin the wheel for prizes ( every spin wins), we have educational games for the kids to play where they can win prizes also. There will also be a great silent auction, with lots of beautiful rocks to bid on and to buy direct sale. We will also have a great raffle our 1st prize is $100. 2nd prize is $50. and a lot of other great prizes for you to win. Door prizes will be called every half hour. The snack bar will be in the frogeteria building again this year. There will be lots of great food and cold drinks for you to enjoy. So come over to Angels Camp this March 27th & 28th and join us in all the fun. The parking is free and we will have a shuttle service to take you from the gate up to the Mark Twain Hall and back down when you want. Admission is $4.00 at the door kids 12 and under, free with an adult. Were open Sat. 10-5 and Sun.10-4. Hope to see you there!
