Senator Dave Cox Talks about the Economy, Job Retention, Creation and more at today's Chamber Luncheon
Angels Camp, CA...California State Senator Dave Cox was the keynote speaker at today's Chamber of Commerce luncheon. The central focus was jobs and the economy. He talked about how over regulation. onerous labor laws. and other costs of doing business in California pushed Toyota to close the last automobile plant in California. Toyota had been asking for relief for several years or they would be forced to leave....they left. On a good note for local jobs was the recent increase in timber harvesting plans form 5-7 years. This small plan will have very positive impacts on the timber industry...
He also talked about how if California does not make changes to become more business friendly it will continue to lose jobs. We rank 49th out of 50 for being a state that is friendly to small business. Only New Jersey ranks worse...
