The 2009 Logging Jamboree Has Sawn and Thrown it's Way into the History Books!~With Video Enclosed

White Pines, CA...The Sierra Nevada Logging Museum played host to thousands for the 2009 Logging Jamboree. The attendees spent the day reliving logging's glory days. The day started off with a friendly competition between the Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Supervisors. It was a split decision with the Supers taking the axe throw and the Chamber taking the Sawing. The main amphitheater competitions continued all day. In addition to the Axe, Chainsaw, Crosscut and other competitions the grounds were filled with activities and booths for all ages.

We would like to thank John Hofstetter and Steve Kafka for sending us in the first photos in the above slide show. The balance of the photos are ThePineTree.net staff photos

The various booths included lots of great food, interpretive booths, Shay Locomotive tours, t-shirts and much more.

The Sierra Nevada Logging Museum is really a great local success story. They have build a wonderful facility and they have even bigger plans for the years ahead. Their website has an incredible amount of information about not only the museum but on logging and area history. Sierra Nevada Logging Museum
