In Loving Memory of Frank McMurry~A Note From Jim McMurry
Sonora, CA..."Dear Sonora Church Family, My father, Frank, died peacefully in his sleep early this morning at his home on Gibbs Drive. Betty and I along with mother were with him at the last. We had been singing hymns together in his room a short time before he passed. Dad was born in Covina, California and grew up in Sodaville and Sweet Home, Oregon. He attended Walla Walla College and was baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist church while a student there. His convictions led him to take a religion major. Dad married Jean Kingsbury, who also lived in Sweet Home, on August 10, 1952.....
He was drafted into the US Army in 1953 and served state-side for two years during the Korean War.
Dad entered the Seventh-day Adventist ministry in December, 1955 and pastored churches in Central California and Oahu, Hawaii throughout his 40+ year career.
Dad retired in Sonora in October of 1995. He pastored the Groveland and Yosemite Valley congregations for a time after he retired.
He enjoyed his family, traveling and stamp collecting.
Dad & mom were married just shy of 57 years.
Dad will be interred at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon on Monday, August 10 at 1:00 P.M.. Memorial Services will be at the Sonora Seventh-day Adventist church on Sabbath, August 15 at 4:00 P.M.

When I left Sonora, I asked you to pray for my kids and watch after my parents. You have certainly done that and more. Many dear ones have visited the folks or come to sit with dad so mom could run errands. We have been bouyed up by your prayerful support.
