Scam Artists Calling Copperopolis Businesses~by Mike Shevlin, President Copper Fire Association

It has been brought to our attention that a group of solicitors using an 800 number is soliciting funds from local businesses representing themselves as the Firefighters of Copperopolis. The Copper Firefighters Association DOES NOT solicit funds over the phone. Our donations come from the hard work of the Copper Fire Auxiliary and many generous individuals and businesses of the area...

If this group should contact you please explain to them that you are aware of their scam and will not donate any monies to their group. We understand that they also call representing themselves to be the Deputy Sheriff's of the local area.

As with any donation you make to an organization the best idea is to contact the local representative of the group you wish to donate to and ask how you can make your contribution so you know it goes to the people you wish to support.

If you have any questions or concerns please call Mike Shevlin at 209-785-1157 or Copper Fire Station one on Main Street at 209-785-2393 .

In an emergency always call 911.

The Copperopolis community has always been very generous in donating to our Association and we do not want anyone taken advantage of by this group of unethical people.

Thanks for your continued support!

Mike Shevlin ~ President

Copper Firefighters Association
