Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Meeting Video for May 26th, 2009
San Andreas, CA...MCT/Black Bart Lease was on the agenda. Donna Broglio from The Children's Repertory Theatre was present and is not happy with this decision. The Supervisors voted to bring the item back to a one week continuance after a clean up of some of the lease language. Code Compliance in issues in San Andreas made an appearance during the public comment period.
George White was officially appointed to head the Planning Department and Tom Garcia was officially appointed to head the public works department.
Representatives from SEI/Waste Connections were on hand talking about Direct Transfer Facilities. The goal will be to consolidate individual truck loads to save significant fuel and additional trips down to the Rock Creek disposal site.
Supervisor Wilensky also spoke about his trip to Washington, DC. He mentioned a Wood Biomass generation facility in Ione. There is also discussion of and he was seeking funds for a wood pellet manufacturing facility in the county.
This and much more filled the meeting time which ran just over 2 hours.
