Trinitas Backers Surge Towards the Finish Line with Email Campaign ~By John Hamilton

Valley Springs, CA...If you are a member of the Board of Supervisors or a member of the press in Calaveras County your inbox has been stuffed the last couple of days with email after email with the subject line of "VOTE YES ON TRINITAS". Over the next few days one get's the feeling that Members of the Calaveras Board of Supervisors will have a full time job digesting the steady stream of community members large and small extolling their support for the project. There are emails from supporters within and without of the county. The emails have poured in from the Bay Area, Sacramento Area, close to home and we even saw one from North Dakota. This is all a prelude to Tuesday's Board of Supervisors meeting where the fate of the project should be decided. We have enclosed a few to give you a flavor of the Board's reading material this weekend....

Since these emails will be part of the public discourse on the subject we thought it was fair to pass a few along. The emails below all came in with the subject line of "VOTE YES ON TRINITAS"

You could say I am biased b/c Michelle Nemee is my sister.

Regardless, Trinitas is not only a beautiful golf course, enhancing and highlighting the native features of the land--they used the natural cobblestone rocks found on the property; preserved the unique mosquite brush and live and valley oaks; enabled wildlife (herons, turkeys, owls, etc.) to flourish--but it's also a one-of-a-kind venue to put Calaveras County on the map, inviting tourists from all over to visit and stimulate the local economy. Have you ever tried the olive oil? I live in Belcourt, ND on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation, and I have requests all the time for olive oil and the rosemary hand lotion. I myself love the soap!

My sister and brother-in-law, Mike, are good, honest people and have only sought to cooperate with the county--despite outright lies raised by the opposition (KIR)--and they will continue to work with county officials to ensure good relations.

I love harvest time when I can help rake the olives and sort. When I'm home, I go for walks and take in all the beauty and wildlife. Please vote yes on Trinitas and let this blessed project inspire so many others.

Dear Board of Supervisors,

This has been one of the most controversial projects that you have all had to consider as supervisors for Calaveras County. The opposition, though few in numbers has been relentless in throwing as much distortion against this project as possible. Some may be legitimate and can be mitigated, but most have been without merit and only fueled additional false charges and allegations against the Trinitas project and those who have supported the benefits that it will bring to this county. I will list below several reasons why this project should be approved by you as members of the Board of Supervisors.

As all of us fully realize the economy has hit Calaveras County as hard as any where. Our unemployment rate is in double digits and job opportunities are limited in the county and will be for the foreseeable future. Through the construction phase and after its completion Trinitas will be one of the largest employment producing enterprises in the county, if not the biggest on the west end of the county.

We as a county, state and federal government have regulated ourselves to death. No longer do private property owners have the right to do what they desire with their land. What our founding fathers originally laid before us has become so convoluted that we have strangled ourselves with government interference for anyone wanting to navigate there way through the system finds it nearly impossible to do so. Trinitas at its completion will produce a landscape that will attract tourism for the county and the prize development will be an attraction which brings many benefits to the county. The Nemee's have thus far proven to be very civic and community minded, these are partners the county needs, not who the county should be chasing away.

All of you have a difficult decision to make in voting on this project, it is my hope that for a better Calaveras all of you vote to approve Trinitas in its entirety.

Sincerely,

Tracy & Tammy Busby

Bob and Jackie Nethery are 15 year residents of Forest Meadows. We approve of this project. Tax money is hard to come by and here is a chance to help our County Budget.
A wise man told me that we are half way between Yosemite and Lake Tahoe and Cal County is where they are looking for a stop over. Folks, they are coming-------

Legally----Howinell can this project be stopped now when the County had "numerous" opportuinties to RED FLAG this project?

Bob Nethery

I just don't get it..?? Some of the nicest places I have visited,,, from Hawaii to Mexico have been on golf courses. Trinitas is no exception. Allowing a couple of "Rotten Apples" spoil this project is just wrong.
Come on,, everyone in County Planning knew this course was being built,,it was not built in the dark of night. Yes,, some permits may have been circumvented,,,but no more than a good politician circumvents everyday. I have driven around on this course it is stunningly gorgeous and a sanctuary for wildlife. Trinitas is an asset to this County,,, its time to move forward,,,let this "Field of Dreams" open it's gates...

Clark

Trinitas will be a great gift to all golfers and nature lovers

Make this project a Calaveras County show case and get going on it ASAP. We all know that the Planning Commission Board only has four members at this time to vote, now you the Board Of Supervisors need to take charge and get it done ASAP, this will save the County a ton of money and time.

Dear Supervisors,

As a golf writer for the last ten years, and a person who has visited and played the Trinitas golf course, I am more than surprised at the “controversy” I have heard about coming from your county. As many have explained, it is a state of the art facility that has only enhanced the property, safeguarding the wildlife, using modern water saving practices, and will bring enhanced revenues to your county. It reminds of the efforts by the great Bobby Jones, who turned an orchard in Augusta, GA, into one of the premier golf courses in the world. With today’s attitudes and environmental fascism, I wonder if it could be built. Please support this world class facility.

Dear Supervisor,

Please, this is a quick note to let you know that I support the rezoning of Trinitas Golf Course. And I look forward to playing golf in Calaveras County!

Thank you,

Bob Maas

Good Morning;

I want to let you all know that I actively support the development and operation of this new business, and hope to make use of it for entertaining my corporate clients from the Bay Area, as well as possibly hosting an annual fundraising tournament to benefit the Scholarship Fund for the Northern California Chapter of IIDA, on whose board I serve as a senior advisor.

There are few new business ventures in this economic climate that so directly address the opportunity for growth, new employment, both at this business and associated businesses, while at the same time bringing a higher level of public visibility for your community.

I strongly urge you to vote in support of this project, and realize the full and lasting benefit of the employment opportunity this presents for both workers and residents in your community.

Sincerely,

Charles Uehrke

I would like to express my support for the Trinitas Golf Course project currently being considered.

It is admirable in so many ways. It has been developed in a very environmentally conscious way (very important to a design professional such as myself) brings new local employment opportunities to an area that needs them, will showcase what California communities can do develop land responsibly and will bring revenue (when people like me from outside the area) into the local population without stressing county or municipal facilities.

I urge you to approve Trinitas!

Thank you

Good day,

As a golfer who enjoys Calaveras County courses and has seen and heard of the plans for the Trinitas Golf Course project, I respectfully ask you to consider a yes vote on their zoning issues.

Myself and a group of traveling golfers I belong to would and will support that facility and would play there several times a year.

Thank you for your consideration by voting yes for the Trinitas rezoning. Allow this beautiful course to reach fruition.

Gary A. Campbell

Good afternoon!

I live in Sacramento County and I am an avid golfer. I really enjoy traveling to other golf venues outside of the Sacramento area. When I read about an awesome golf course named TRINITAS that is coming to “my back yard” in both “Golf Today” magazine and in the Northern California Golf Association magazine I was VERY excited!!

I and several of my friends were waiting for the official unveiling of this golf course and associated complex, but it hasn’t happened yet…WHY? Let’s GO!

I was very surprised to hear that it was being held up by the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors…for a long while!!. I respectfully ask that you all vote “yes” on this golf course including all the related plans to the golf course.

Its good for the community and it is great having diversity of different golf courses of this caliber in the area.

There must be more golfing options than playing at La Contenta or Saddle Creeek. C’mon lets add some diversity in the area!

GET TRINITAS UP AND GOING!!

Dear members of the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors,

I would like to express my sincere hope that you approve the Trinitas project. I have had the privilege to play this wonderful course and I look forward to hosting events with business clients and friends at Trinitas for years to come. This destination golf/resort venue would provide jobs, generate revenue and bring visitors to your County from around the Bay Area, the US and quite possibly the world to play the course, attend events and stay at the facility.

I hope you vote Yes on this project.

Best regards,

Brian McPherson
