Angels Camp City Council Back In Action Tuesday at 5:30pm

Angels Camp, CA...The Angels Camp City Council is back in action on Tuesday March 17, 2009.; The Lode Hotel is back on the agenda starting the meeting off at 5:30pm. The Regular Meeting will begin at 6pm with Patty Turcotte, Event Chair for Relay for Life will be discussing this year's event; Ray Malerbi will speak with a 2009 Calaveras County Fair update and more will be discussed. 1. CONSIDERATION OF ABATEMENT/DEMOLITION OF THE LODE HOTEL (continued from 3/3/09) – Bruce Silva/Steve Flaigg, City Building Department
Council Action:
a. INSPECTION AND APPROVAL UPDATE REGARDING SAFETY ISSUES AND STRUCTURAL DEFICIENCIES THROUGHOUT THE LODE HOTEL AS SPECIFIED IN THE ORDER TO ABATE DATED 12/16/08 AND 15 DAY EXTENSION APPROVED 1/20/09 FOR ABATEMENT OF FAÇADE – ALLOWING MR. ASHLOCK TO IMMEDIATELY OBTAIN A DEMOLITION PERMIT AND REMOVE FAÇADE WITHIN 15 DAYS.

b. COUNCIL REQUEST FROM 2/3/09 ASKING MR ASHLOCK FOR A CERTIFIED PLAN FROM A STRUCTURAL ENGINEER SHOWING CAUSE NOT TO DEMOLISH THE BUILDING.

c. DIRECT CITY ADMINISTRATOR TO COMPLY WITH ABATEMENT ORDER DATED 12/16/08 AND/OR AUTHORIZE CITY ATTORNEY TO FILE AN ACTION IN THE SUPERIOR COURT OF CALAVERAS COUNTY REQUESTING THE COURT TO GRANT RELIEF TO ABATE THE NUISANCE.
