Agriculture and Forestry Element to the General Plan Moves Forward ~By John Hamilton with Video Enclosed
San Andreas, CA...Yesterday at a busy Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Meeting, one of the most notable agenda items to move forward was the Agriculture and Forestry Element into the General Plan. This element has been crafted by local Agriculture, Agritourism and Forestry Concerns and was accepted by the county. Local notables such as Scott Klann from the Calaveras Winegrape Alliance and Addie Jacobson from Ebbetts Pass Forest Watch led the discussions from the community groups. Interim Planning Director Bret Harrington recommended to the Board that the county accept the various elements and let...
County Staffers and Mintier and Associates start working on making all of the various general plan pieces are assembled into a cohesive general plan.
One of Mr. Harrington's concerns is that all of the elements have to mesh and be consistent with county regulations and guidelines. Mr. Harrington also stated that all of the elements including Water, Ag, Economic Development, Housing..Etc will in all likelihood need minor adjustments
