“The Bear Valley Telemark Festival is the highlight of my ski season”, says Stacy Michaels, an intermediate skier from Sunnyvale, California. “I have attended for the past six years and each one gets a little better. I can’t wait for this year” says Stacy. “The festival is so well organized that both the instructors and participants are able to “go with the flow” and focus on having a great time” claims Craig Dostie former editor of Couloir Magazine.

The festival officially begins on Friday, February 6th at the Bear Valley Mountain Resort and continues through Sunday February 8th. Folks can attend as little or much as they choose. Each day offers telemark ski instruction from the most talented pool of professional telemak ski instructors assembled in the West. Sunday includes backcountry ski tours plus continued clinics at the ski resort. “New this year we have added the opportunity for folks to simply gather and ski with local telemark skiers” says Aaron Johnson the festival director. Aaron adds that he is “excited to offer a blend of education and recreation at this years festival”.

Mountain Adventure Seminars (MAS) is a year-round mountaineering school based in Bear Valley, California along scenic all weather Highway 4. MAS specializes in telemark ski instruction, avalanche education, mountaineering, and backcountry skiing, snowboarding and snowshoeing during the winter. To learn more about the festival events, schedules and prices please visit the MAS website at www.mtadventure.com or give us a call (209) 753-6556 ext. 1. We love to talk about our work!
