Fire Restrictions Lifted On The Stanislaus National Forest

Sonora, Calif. Oct. 08, 2015…Due to cooler, wetter weather and predictions of stable or cooling conditions into the future, fire restrictions on the Stanislaus National Forest (NF) are being lifted effective midnight tonight. This will allow the public to build campfires outside of established administrative sites within the Forest for the purpose of warming; however, visitors are reminded there is still a CAL FIRE, statewide ban on debris burning in effect.
Butte Fire Reaches 100% Containment! Final Update On Actual Fire

San Andreas, CA...As of 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1st the Butte Fire was 100% contained, at 70,868 acres. There are no road closures, and all evacuations have been lifted. From this point forward, there will be no further updates on the Butte Fire. To report smoke or hot spots in the Butte Fire area, please call 209 754-1187. To report damage to fences or roads that was caused by fire suppression activity, not the fire itself, please call 209-754-2708.
Butte Fire Reaches 95% Containment & Fire Area Returns To Local Control & Meeting Tonight In Mountain Ranch

San Andreas, CA...As of 9 AM on Monday, September 28, 2015 the Butte Fire Information / Recovery line will change to 209-754-5527. CAL FIRE Incident Management Team 1 will transition Command to the Amador El Dorado and the Tuolumne Calaveras Units at 10:00 AM. A Community meeting will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Mountain Ranch Community Club, 8049 Washington Street, Mountain Ranch, CA.

San Andreas, CA...The Damage Assessment team is continuing to work diligently and has re-classified the structures destroyed to a more accurate estimate. Fire behavior remained minimal within the fire perimeter. Firefighters continue mop-up operations to increase containment lines. Complete details are below...

San Andreas, CA...Fire behavior remained minimal during the day within the fire perimeter. Firefighters are working aggressively to expedite re-population. Smoke may continue to impact the affected fire areas and surrounding communities. The public is reminded to use caution as electrical service and other utilities, such as water and sewer, may not be restored for up to a week. Angels Camp, Ca...Yesterday morning Old Town Angels Camp was a happy and thankful fire line. No hoses, dozers, axes or shovels. just kids and adults from all over the county waving, cheering and holding signs saying THANK YOU to the firefighters. Many of the Butte Fire Firefighters are using Frogtown as a Basecamp and roll through Angels Camp on their way to or from assignments on the fire line.

San Andreas, CA...For the first time the number of personnel attached to the Butte has dropped. Not by much but a good indicator. Acreage held steady and the heat map is quiet. Still lots of work left to do but a Churchill quote may sum it up best. "Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." Not in the update but the first fatality was removed from a home early last evening. Structures lost held steady, but some we have spoken with say that number may still rise, we hope not.
