San Andreas, CA..During the past week, the Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit (TCU) has responded to five illegal debris burns, resulting in four criminal citations issued. On Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 12:40 PM TCU responded to a debris burn on Sun Road in Mountain Ranch, CA. The fire consisted of multiple oversize burn piles and a citation was issued for violations related to violating the terms of the burn permit.
Arnold, CA...Arnold/Ebbetts Pass Corridor Communities participate in National Wildfire Community Preparedness Day. Saturday, May 5th – Independence Hall, 1445 Blagen Road, Arnold, 9:00 to Noon. Residents and property owners in high-risk wildfire areas who want to take action to increase their safety but are unsure about how to start can now find the information and the inspiration they need to organize and accomplish wildfire risk reduction projects on their property and in their community. The Volunteers in Prevention Team is partnering with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and State Farm® for the 5th annual Wildfire Community Preparedness Day event on May 5th, 2018, to help individuals and communities prepare for and work together to reduce their risk of wildfire damage.
May 4 & 5: Red Cross to Sound the Alarm and Help Save Lives

Sacramento, CA...Volunteers from all over the Gold Country Region will gather this weekend in support of Sound the Alarm, the nationwide Red Cross effort to help reduce the number of deaths and injuries from home fires. Nationwide, the Red Cross will Sound the Alarm through a series of smoke alarm installation and fire safety events in more than 100-high-risk communities. From April 28 through May 13, Red Cross volunteers and partners will install 100,000 free smoke alarms. Our goal in the Gold Country Region is 1,000 alarm installations. These events are part of the Red Cross Home Fire Campaign, which since 2014 has helped save lives through smoke alarm installations and home fire safety education in thousands of communities.
San Andreas, CA...Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at 8:00 AM the Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) will require burning permits within State Responsibility Areas of Tuolumne County, Calaveras County, Eastern Stanislaus County and Eastern San Joaquin County. Burn hours will not be restricted; however, a transition to night time burning may occur as conditions change.

No Injuries in Roof Collapse at Home in Hathaway Pines Area

Arnold, CA...We just spoke with EPFD Engineer-Paramedic Pete Ryan to get a few details on the reported roof collapse into a room of a in the 5000 Block of Hwy 4 in the Hathaway Pines area. Luckily there were no injuries and the family was not displaced as they were able to isolate that section of the home.

Murphys, CA...A residential structure fire was contained and controlled in a home on Hwy 4 between Murphys and Forest Meadows. There were reported burn injuries to a resident and an air ambulance was called.

Angels Camp, CA...On January 30, 2018 at approximately 0458hrs the City of Angels Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the 300 block of S. Main St. Heavy smoke had filled the double wide mobile home when the first engine arrived at the scene. Firefighters from the Altaville Melones FPD, Murphys FPD, and San Andreas FPD assisted the City in extinguishing the fire and containing it to two rooms of the dwelling.
