CSERC To Wage Legal Battle Over Tuolumne County General Plan |
Posted by: thepinetree on 02/01/2019 09:12 AM

Twain Harte, CA....The following is CSERC's release on their plans..."What A General Plan is the basis for all planning decisions that are made in a county. One that minimizes protection for agriculture, open space, and oak woodlands can lead over time to significant losses of those important values. That is the case with the Tuolumne County General Plan that has just been revised. For years CSERC staff and other concerned citizen activists attended one-sided county committee meetings - where Tuolumne County supervisors joined with developers and pro-use business interests to discuss ways to weaken environmental regulations and to produce a revised, pro-development General Plan for the County.

Posted by: thepinetree on 01/30/2019 07:35 PM

New York, NY...In a scientific first, Columbia neuroengineers have created a system that translates thought into intelligible, recognizable speech. By monitoring someone’s brain activity, the technology can reconstruct the words a person hears with unprecedented clarity. This breakthrough, which harnesses the power of speech synthesizers and artificial intelligence, could lead to new ways for computers to communicate directly with the brain. It also lays the groundwork for helping people who cannot speak, such as those living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or recovering from stroke, regain their ability to communicate with the outside world.
