This workshop teaches you to grow fruits and vegetables to be healthier, to save money and to have greater control and enjoyment over the food that you eat. You will learn how to create an organic garden that produces your favorite foods within your properties opportunities and constraints. From planning to harvesting, you will learn the ingredients of success without relying on harmful additives, pollutants and costly commercial solutions and take away a plan of action and knowledge needed to start growing your Victory Garden.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
1.Know which fruits and vegetables can be grown organically in the Foothills for family consumption.
2.Develop a personal plan for producing food for the family year round with maximum yield in minimum space.
3.Able to describe the steps from planning to harvesting fruits and vegetables in a home garden.
4.Understand how the quality of food and how it is grown affects your personal health, the local environment, and the planet.

Directions: Approaching Columbia from Calaveras County, turn right at N. Airport Road just past the Gold Springs storage facility prior to entering Columbia. Go about a mile and turn right on Mt. Holly Lane. Going towards Calaveras, drive through Columbia, past the ā€œSā€ curve, and turn left on N. Airport Road.
