All Day Fishing Seminar Weekend at Glory Hole Sports
Seminar Weekend
April 16th and 17th

We will hold our annual seminar at the store this year. Guides will be on hand with their boats, including Danny Layne, Gary Burns, Bruce Hamby, JoeFish, etc. We will have seminars on fishing, and all the latest new tackle. Vendors will be on hand to answer questions.

We were originally going to concentrate on kokanee fishing since it is the start of kokanee season, but we have decided to expand and hold the same kind of seminar we have always held, with all species of fish found in our Mother Lode Lakes covered.

So be sure to mark your calendars for this fun-filled weekend!

07:00 AM Mr. Frog's Wild Ride Bike Ride
On Saturday, April 16th, the Feeney Park Boosters will be hosting the 4th Annual Mr. Frog's Wild Ride. A scenic fun cycling ride that winds through the Murphys region. With a 50k and a 100k, the course takes riders through the historic towns, up rolling climbs and zipping downhills, this ride takes place during prime time to view wildflowers. Funds for this ride go to fund the operations and upgrades to the Feeney Park in Murphys, CA. The 100k has a time trial if desired. The course also includes rest stops, SAG, a barbecue dinner, live music and a free massage to the riders.

Pre-registration: 50k $35; 100 k $45 by April 14th. Day of registration add $5.

For more information go to: www.mrfrogswildride.org.

Welcome to the 2011 Mr. Frog's Wild Ride, the fourth annual foothills biking event benefiting youth sports in our area. The first four rides were a resounding success, and we intend to make it even better the fourth time around with the help of our riders, sponsors and volunteers. Mark your calendars now to come to Calaveras County to bicycle through the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills. All proceeds benefit Feeney Park, a non-profit community sports and recreational facility in Murphys, complete with youth soccer and baseball fields, skatepark, walking trails, picnic areas, and an amphitheater.

Wildflower-full April is a great time to get into the frontier spirit evoked by Mark Twain in his “Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County.” Come join us April 16th, 2011 for our springtime ride in the beautiful Sierra Foothills!

We have redesigned the routes to show off the southwest end of our county and have even included a TIME TRIAL in the middle of the longer ride. We are featuring an 100K and a 50K this year, with shorter options available en route. Don’t think that we’ve made it any easier though, as both rides will leave you hungry for that BBQ at the finish. All the climbing and zippy downhills will be there without the rigors of the rough roads of past Mr. Frog’s Wild Rides. The long route will include a ride to New Melones Lake and feature a short time trial in the middle if desired. Winner of the time trial will be awarded a nice prize at the conclusion of the ride. There will be one mile of gravel in the long ride--that is perfectly rideable--so one can pretend briefly to be a randonneur at the Paris Roubaix. Springtime in the Mother Lode is the best time of the year, and we hope to see you here!

Everyone from kids to grandparents are welcome to join in the fun whether riding or not. Spend Sunday wine tasting, hiking, enjoying the sights and history, shopping, or just relaxing. There will be overnight tent camping allowed inside of Feeney Park, plus great food, live music, and much, much more. This ride is meant for the safe enjoyment of our participants. Every participant should train for the challenges presented by that rider's chosen route. Use of CPSC approved helmets is required. The California Vehicle Code must be followed, and courtesy to other riders and drivers is expected. Although these two routes are paved, much of the traveling is on back roads that have undergone much spot patching, leaving irregularities and bumps. Potholes happen. Ride organizers and sponsors are not responsible for the condition of the pavement surface. Every rider should carry personal identification and spare tubes, a tire pump and a patch kit. Waivers will be signed on race day. Online registration cut off time will be 12:00pm on April 15, 2011. All later registration must be done in person on site. REFUNDS: Up to 15 days before ride: Refund minus Paypal or Active fees and $10 MFWR processing fee. 14-5 days before ride: 50% of total amount paid. 5 days before ride: no refund.
