Pink Shoes Kicking up Excitement for Steps to Kick Cancer Luncheon |

San Andreas, CA...Pink shoes will be parading around Calaveras County prior to and at the Steps to Kick Cancer Luncheon on Oct. 24 at Mark Twain Medical Center. “Pink is the well known signature color for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October,” notes Debbie Sellick, president of the Calaveras Cancer Support Group. “So we figure it’s appropriate to have pink shoes kicking up excitement for this great event.” The luncheon is from 11:30 to 1 p.m. Seating is limited and reservations are required. Joe was a teacher, zealous advocate for children, cowboy, conservationist, musician, restauranteur, world traveler, and unconditional friend who touched the lives of so many. Joe dedicated his life to education. Whether it was family, friends, students, patrons, or a passerby on the street, Joe believed they had something to teach him, and he something to teach them.

Rail Road Flat, CA...This scheduled road closure of North Railroad Flat Road from Noble Road to Wells Fargo Station Road is taking place under a utility encroachment permit with Volcano Telephone to underground the existing aerial facilities. Emergency vehicles and residents who live in the construction area will be granted access as needed. Associated Office to State Route 26 and State Route 26 to Ridge Road through Rail Road Flat are the alternate routes for through traffic.

Human Remains Believed to be Missing Person Helen Coultrup’s Located |

San Andreas, CA...On August 15, 2019, at about 8:10 AM, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a vehicle matching the description of Helen Coultrup’s car. A citizen recreating the area located the vehicle near Wilseyville (California) several miles off the highway on a dirt road. Calaveras County Sheriff’s Detectives, California Highway Patrol Air Unit and the Calaveras County Volunteer Search and Rescue Team (including a search dog) were dispatched to investigate and search the area. Upon arrival, they located Coultrup’s vehicle and began searching the area.

San Andreas, CA...On Saturday, August 3, 2019, Helen Coultrup disappeared from her San Andreas apartment, presumably in her four door, silver / light blue to tan colored 2010 Toyota Yaris hatchback, CA License #6WWY181. At the time of the report, an investigation was initiated which included the issuance of a Silver Alert, a search of her residence, a search of her possible path of travel, financial records examined, as well as Helen and her vehicle were listed on multiple state and nationwide databases as a missing person.
