Neighbor Dispute Leads to Fatal Shooting in Rail Road Flat |

Rail Road Flat, CA...On Saturday, June 26, 2022 at about 9:00 pm, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a reported shooting in the 600 block of Ridge Road in Rail Road Flat. The caller indicated that a person had been shot. The caller reported that the person suspected of shooting the victim was still in the area.

Three Illegal Marijuana Cultivation Sites Raided on June 22nd |

Mountain Ranch, CA...Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Team Recap June 22 2021. On June 22nd, 2021, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Unit served 3 unrelated search warrants for illegal marijuana cultivation in Mountain Ranch. The first site was located in the 18700 block of Old Greek Mine Road in Mountain Ranch. Deputies seized 242 growing marijuana plants with an estimated value exceeding $169,000. One suspect was contacted at the site and issued a citation.

Mountain Ranch, CA...In 1950, we started out as a family operation with Erich’s father and mother, August and Freida Sender, in a century-old adobe building. The upstairs was home to the Sender family, and the first floor included groceries, a meat market, a bar, and a small eating place called Opa’s Smokehouse. On Christmas morning in 1968, the old store was destroyed by fire. But in June 1969, Sender’s Market, Inc. was opened. Since that time, there have been many changes, including remodeling, expansion, and the addition of many employees. That’s also when we added the truss plant and purchased Sender’s Market Ace Hardware in Valley Springs. Today, we're still family owned and still working hard to stock everything from pantry essentials to power tools. San Andreas, CA... Music in the Parks Returns to Calaveras County: After last year’s summer of silence in the parks, we’re all itching for some good times. And thankfully, music returns to Calaveras County on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. with the Calaveras Arts Council’s long-standing admission-free Music in the Parks concert series.

Arnold, CA...National Weather Service Sacramento has extended their Excessive Heat Warning through Sunday at 8pm. Dangerously hot conditions continue for northern California. High pressure over the west will result in very hot daytime temperatures through the weekend. These hot afternoon temperatures, combined with warm overnight lows, will lead to widespread high to very high heat risk. The Complete Warning is below...

San Andreas, CA...On June 17th, 2021, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Unit served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation on two adjoining addresses in the 9000 block of Avenue A in Mountain Ranch. Upon arrival at the scene, Deputies contacted ten persons at the site. Several of these persons had identification documents or indicated that they had travelled from several different countries, including Spain, Argentina, and Chile.
