Great Conditions & Bear Valley Open Till April 12th

Bear Valley, CA....You may have heard some news recently about resorts closing. We're here to tell you that we're open until April 12th. This video was shot last night with our incredible snow management team. They've been working hard all year to keep conditions great for riding. Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Mostly sunny today with a high near 52. Southwest wind 8 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Additional cooling Sunday into Tuesday as the next weather system impacts Bear Valley. This storm will be stronger and wetter while it impacts Central and Northern CA. South to Southwest winds will begin to enhance Sunday afternoon with peak gusts over the Sierra ranging 40-60 mph overnight into Monday afternoon. The bulk of precipitation is expected Sunday night into Monday morning as snow levels hover around 5000 to 5500 ft. Snow accumulations will be around 2-4". 2015/16 Season Pass sales started March 13th, 2015 so go to the Bear Valley web page and check out the awesome details on deals! Public Meeting To Be Held In Bear Valley March 19th On U.S. Forest Service Proposed Over-Snow Vehicle Use Project

Sonora, CA…The Stanislaus National Forest is requesting public consideration of the DRAFT Proposed Action for its Over-Snow Vehicle (OSV) Use Designation project BEFORE it is published in a Notice of Intent coming in late March/ early April. In order to receive public feedback, the Forest is hosting open houses, that are a follow-up to workshops held last fall, at the following locations and dates: March 11 from 1-5 p.m. at the Supervisors Office in Sonora; March 13 from 1-5 p.m. at the Calaveras Ranger District office in Hathaway Pines; March 17 from 5-7 p.m. at the Pinecrest Community Center in Pinecrest; and March 19 from 5-8 p.m. at the Bear Valley Library, conference room in Bear Valley. “Over-snow Vehicle Use is a popular form of winter recreation on the Stanislaus National Forest,” said Jeanne Higgins, Forest Supervisor, Stanislaus National Forest. “We built the DRAFT Proposal using current information and best available science. I encourage the public, users of the Forest OSV routes to assist us in identifying historical routes and uses.”
