Groveland Ranger District to Begin 5,238 Acre China Ridge Underburn |

| Groveland, CA...With ignitions planned for today, crews on the Stanislaus National Forest’s Groveland Ranger District will begin prescribed fire operations on the China Ridge burn units. The Chine Ridge burn units are located adjacent to the Groveland Ranger District office and following China Ridge south to Greeley Hill Road approximately four miles north east of Greeley Hill. The majority of the underburn is adjacent to Smith Station Rd, Greeley Hill Rd, and Forest Service Road 2S05.

Calaveras, Eastern San Joaquin, Eastern Stanislaus and Tuolumne Counties Burn Permit Suspension Lifted |

San Andreas, CA...Effective Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 8 a.m. the burn permit suspension in Calaveras, Eastern San Joaquin, Eastern Stanislaus and Tuolumne Counties will be lifted. CAL FIRE Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit Chief Nick Casci is formally cancelling the burn permit suspension and advises that those possessing current and valid agriculture and residential burn permits can now resume burning on permissible burn days.

Pine Mountain Lake Vegetation Management Program |

Groveland, CA...The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CALFIRE) Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit will be conducting a prescribed burning operation on the Pine Mountain Lake (PML) Vegetation Management Program (VMP) site, beginning Monday October 30th, 2023. This project is located north of Ferretti Road between Tioga High School and Rocky Point Dr. Burning operations will be concentrated North of Ferretti Rd. between October 30th and November 3rd.

Incoming Weather to Close Hwy 4 Over Ebbetts Pass Today at Noon |

Alpine County, CA...The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close State Route 4 from Lake Alpine to the Route 89 junction (Ebbetts Pass) due to snowy conditions, beginning at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. There is currently no estimated time of opening for this stretch of State Route 4.

Tioga Pass Hwy 120 Temporary Closure for Snowy Conditions |

Yosemite National Park, CA..The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is issuing notice of the temporary closure of State Route 120 East (Tioga Pass) at Crane Flat Road inside Yosemite National Park due to snowy conditions, beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Caltrans will have a temporary closure in place on SR-120 West (Tioga Pass) from the Yosemite National Park entrance (Mono County line) to the Caltrans winter closure gate just west of Lee Vining, beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Sonora, CA...Weather and conditions dependent, fire managers with the Stanislaus National Forest’s Groveland Ranger District will begin prescribed fire operations near the Yosemite National Park Merced Grove and following Old Yosemite Road to Pilot Peak Lookout to the west approximately 3 miles south of Hwy 120.
